Below are the results of the Pairs competition played on Monday 13th November. The best laid plans didn’t quite go according to plan but still a good evening of curling was had by all who took part.
Semi-Final played at 6.30pm
Heavy traffic meant a slightly later start but the teams still managed to play 5 ends in 45 minutes (so it can be done!).
C Macnee (a late sub) and C Abercrombie beat M Abercrombie and G Fitzpatrick
Semi-Final played at 7.30pm
In this game P Jones and D McIntosh beat T Smith and R Hotchkiss
Final played at 9.00pm
A quick phone call was required to get the Abercrombies back from a local restaurant so they could play in the final (M Abercrombie having to take the place of C Macnee who had another curling game in Perth to go to!).
P Jones and D McIntosh took an early lead to get to 7 – 2 up after 4 ends but the Abercrombies fought back strongly to only be 1 shot behind going into the 7th and final end…… some good shot making ensued and with the last stone of the game P Jones and D McIntosh came out winners by a score of 9 shots to 6.
